NEW Natural Hair Line From Pantene

Pantene has released two new lines for African American hair: Truly Relaxed and Truly Natural. Since my hair is natural, I decided to pick up two of the four products offered. I chose the Pantene Truly Natural Hair Co-Wash Cleansing Conditioner and the Pantene Truly Natural Hair Defining Curls Styling Custard.

Both products are designed to help manage natural hair while controlling frizz and adding moisture, shine, and softness. I purchased and tried both products Tuesday night. The conditioner and custard retailed for $4.99 each from my local Target. The products left my naturally curly hair soft and smelling GREAT! I think the custard especially smells good! I did notice that the custard dries on the hair like a gel and caused my hair to feel dry. Although this may be normal for most custards, I've never used one before so I was suprised. I think knowing this I'll use the custard on my wet hair only. I really like the fact Pantene now has a separate lines for natural and relaxed hair instead of a combined line like they used to have. I am looking forward to also purchasing more products from this line especially the Pantene Shine Serum with Argan Oil.

Cantu Flat Iron Spray

On a recent trip to Atlanta I received one of the best heat protectant sprays that I have tried and it is the Cantu Shea Butter Flat Iron Spray. Cantu is a natural hair care product line that specializes in products that cater to Natural African American Hair. Each product has natural ingredients with pure shea butter and different oils to moisturize hair and stimulate healthy growth. This particular product is a heat protectant and the formula is formulated to protect, moisturize, and gives a slight hold to avoid frizziness. The only thing I don't like about this product is that the hold that the spray gives is kind of hard and sticky, although it may be because I'm holding the spray too close to my hair before I put the iron on it. I have also noticed that the spray stays in my hair days after I have sprayed it. Even though my hair feels dry, once I re-iron parts of my hair it gets a hold on it as if I sprayed more product on it and I haven't. For the most part I like it and I hope that I can find it since I got it in Atlanta. I haven't seen this product locally but prices for this product range from $4-$7 online and it says that it can be found at Wal-Mart or Walgreens. Whether I have to purchase this product online or in store, I will continue to buy it and will try other Cantu hair products.
